The What
We are a 501(c)3 Non Profit organization committed to rescuing abused and neglected animals who need a safe and comfortable home. We are just getting started and so far have rescued 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 extra large pigs & 4 mini goats. I plan to invite a donkey from the BLM roundup soon. I have been dreaming of Misfit Farms for some time and it's super exciting to see it evolve and grow. I invite you to join in this adventure with us and there will be many opportunities to participate coming soon!
I have been a vegetarian for all my adult life (40+ years). I realize that not everyone would choose this, but I do know that I could not butcher any animal after my experience growing up on a small family farm. I even escort the creepy crawlies outside when they end up in the house. We all have a purpose and a part in the thing called life and I do not place greater importance on myself over other creatures. So, before any negative comments start, I choose this lifestyle for myself and offer up my property as a sanctuary for any animal who has experienced abuse or neglect, with a focus on farm animals. However, I respect that we all must choose the lifestyle that fits and I am not out to convert carnivores. Just saying that if we all had to butcher what ends up on the dinner table, choices might be different.
